This is a proposal to photograph anomalis objects at a specific location on the lunar surface using a very large telescope with state-of-the-art technology. This is based upon my visual observations and 20 years of limited research into NASA archives. This proposal seeks further confirmation of the hypothesis that some suspected structures are very large (often spanning several miles), and visible from earth using superior equipment and observing protocols. It also seeks further confirmation of extensive fraud in the NASA database. The operating premise here is that the demonstrated absence of a given object(s) in the NASA database, along with its apparent geometry, constitutes an a priori assumption of artificiality and resources should be employed to confirm.

My equipment: Astrola 8-inch, f/4.5 Newtonian reflector from Cave Optical Company (purchased in 1975). Premium quality oculars are used (Abbe Orthoscopic, Tele Vue Plossal, etc. with quality 2x and 3x barlows, yielding magnifications up to about 500x. Mirror tested using the star test to confirm diffraction-limited quality. Wave-front error at the focal plane estimated to be ¼ or better.

My observing locations: Mt. Washington in Los Angeles (elevation 800’) and Crestline, CA (elevation about 5000’). The Crestline site partakes of the inversion layer that makes Mt. Wilson one of the steadiest sites in the world. Seeing is often sub-arc second during the late spring, summer, and early fall months. The late Thomas R. Cave, noted Mars observer and founder of Cave Optical Co, has described using the Mr. Wilson 100-inch Hooker reflector to observe Mars in 1956. With the help of Robert Richardson, they pushed the telescope to 3200x and the image remained steady (Sky and Telescope, Nov. 2000, p. 84)!

J. Swaney of Las Vegas, Nevada observed an "arc" and giant sphere (parts of an enormous tower) with a small refractor, and reported to FATE magazine in the May 1981 issue. Through multiple observations over several years, I subsequently confirmed only these two elements of his observations at both morning sun and sunset terminator. During initial observation of P. Agarum in 1981 to confirm, morning sun librations "conspired" to produce a view virtually matching Ingo Swann’s drawing of a hollow arc connecting a cliff to a valley in March 1974 (see his book Penetration, p. 68). This was a jaw dropping experience! Arc was clearly seen as far larger than the limit of resolution. It was subsequently verified in Lick photo L2 (36-inch refractor), with analysis confirmed by Evan Heyworth, former U.S. Army/Fairchild Camera photo interpreter. During one observation at full moon this observer noticed very high albedo off the sphere, indicating possible glass construction (see work of Richard Hoagland/Enterprise Mission). This sphere is easily seen in photo D1 (late afternoon, solar colongitude 96.9 degrees) of the Consolidated Lunar Atlas on the web. It appears as a tiny, bright, round spot at the foot of Agarum. Visually, at solar colongitude 115-116 (terminator is at 64-65 degrees east longitude), the object retains its bright, spherical appearance. Also supportive is a Mt. Wilson, 100-inch Hooker photo (age 3 days, colongitude about 310 degrees). A radical enlargement of Agarum at high resolution clearly shows a narrow, long shadow thrown to the west by an object above ground level. This shadow originates at the exact position of the bright sphere. A crater could not produce this shadow!

What J. Swaney didn’t sketch was my discovery of a "circular summit" on the Agarum plateau at solar colongitude 117 degrees (sunset). Its cone-shaped shadow is visible at 297 degrees (sunrise).

Crater with white ejecta blanket in position of bright sphere shows contradictory shadow patterns in 17-2213 (panoramic) and 17-0278 (mapping). NASA gives sun elevations as 49 and 39 degrees respectively. Comment from Evan Heyworth while viewing these two Goddard prints in 1985: "Well, it would have been nice if they had put the same crater in one photograph that they put in the other!" A 10 degree difference in sun elevation should give similar shadow patterns. The higher resolution photo, 17-2213, is consistent with a more or less vertical sun angle. Note the 48 degree shadow patterns in numerous small craters and the large 3.5 mile crater at the far right in 17-2215 below.

UPDATE ON 06/29/05: The Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston, Texas has just placed the Apollo 17 panoramic photos on the web, an historic event. One can view the entire version of AS17-2213 by opening the following link: http://www.lpi.usra.edu/resources/apollo/frame/?AS17-P-2213. The long panoramic strip runs left to right, with the crater shown above located in the center vertically, and about 1/3 the distance from the left (use the photo in “Example Three” below as a guide). Amazingly, or not at all if you are wise to NASA’s games, the two craters are different when they should be identical! The web version has a dark shadow inside the crater, and the “white ejecta blanket” isn’t as bright. This may be an attempt to make this panoramic conform more closely to 17-0278 (mapping).

Photo interpreter and lunar anomaly hunter Evan Heyworth commented to me in a 1985 meeting (area in ellipse), "That looks like airbrushing to me for sure." From extensive high magnification observations at solar colongitude 115-118 degrees (late afternoon), I can affirm that this photo is a fabrication. This conclusion is made possible by the very high contrast due to low sun angle. However, a hint of the bright sphere (described above) is located in the area marked by the small square and reminds one of the specular reflection found by Richard Hoagland in the Ukert crater region. NASA’s "crater" should show extensive shadow in the crater at this position!

Below are full frame sections of the Apollo 17 panoramic photos 17-2213 and 17-2215 of Promontory Agarum. Several highly geometric objects easily seen at 116-117 degrees solar colongitude (lunar sunset) are completely missing from these photos, including the "circular summit" described above. These same objects are seen with their shadows in Lick photo L1 (36-inch refractor) at 329 degrees solar colongitude (lunar morning). Properly interpreted, L1 and L2 would destroy any NASA rebuttal of "a trick of light and shadow," unsuccessfully used in the "face on Mars" controversy.

A former Top Secret photo interpreter for the U.S. Air Force remarked to me when shown the photos below, "What is that, a nebula?" Any skilled observer with a quality telescope and common sense would not be deceived by this artwork. Circle indicates location of "Example One" above. Insert at lower right is for resolution and crater shadow comparison with 17-0278 (mapping).

EXAMPLE FOUR: PHOTO FRAUD IN SECTIONAL ENLARGEMENT OF LUNAR ORBITER 4, 72M (medium resolution) OF PROMONTORY AGARUM

We have been told that the Lunar Orbiter photographs were based upon U.S. spy satellite technology of the 1960s. One is simply speechless when viewing the photo below. I invite careful comparison with any Lick Observatory photo! At the same scale (tens of miles across), there is no comparison in detail. This photo doesn’t stand alone. A copy of Lunar Orbiter 4, 91M shows exactly the same problem. How is it possible that NASA could issue such grossly inferior photography to scientists and the public unless they had something to hide? Shame on the planetary science community for ignoring this nonsense. The faintly seen enormous "Swann arc" described above is located in the area marked by the small square.

Here I have presented only the proverbial "tip of the iceberg." The question arises, "Are these structures clear evidence of aliens from another solar system, present or past, or do they represent artifacts from earth, or possibly Mars?" If the latter, we would be looking at the remains of highly technological civilizations from thousands or even millions of years ago. The implications for the linear theory of earth’s history would be devastating. However, we will never know unless the public wakes up and demands the truth from NASA through Congressional hearings, something Richard Hoagland hinted at in 1994 but which never materialized. The moon awaits a real space program of exploration that will amaze us for years.
